Can Auto Performance developed this high-flow drop-in intake filter as a direct replacement upgrade for factory air filters used on high-performance SUV platforms. It is engineered to reduce intake restriction under high airflow demand without requiring a full intake system replacement.

Turbocharged engines are extremely sensitive to intake restriction, especially at higher engine speeds and sustained load. While the factory filter is sufficient for daily driving, airflow demand increases significantly during aggressive driving or on tuned vehicles. This CAP intake filter was engineered to improve airflow efficiency where it matters most, helping the turbochargers operate more effectively without requiring a full intake system replacement.

Just as we use flow simulations to prove our intake pipe designs, we use real-world acceleration data to validate our filters. Instead of a theoretical dyno run, we took a 2022 Audi SQ8 (4.0T) and put it to the test on the using Dragy GPS performance metering (which is proven to be extremely accurate).
We measured 60–130 mph times—the enthusiast's gold standard for measuring true horsepower and high-speed efficiency.

Data Analysis: How Much Power Did We Gain?
The data reveals a distinct improvement in high-speed acceleration. We shaved 0.21 seconds off the 60-130mph time. While that may sound like a small number, in a heavy SUV carrying a 250lb driver, moving that mass significantly faster requires a serious increase in energy.
Based on our calculations of moving a ~5,500lb total race weight, factoring in for the slope and the incline difference, this reduction in time translates to a gain of approximately 10+ Wheel Horsepower (WHP) or 12 hp (Crank Horsepower).
Looking at the acceleration curves, the stock filter (orange line in baseline) shows signs of "nosing over" as aerodynamic drag and engine demand increase. In contrast, the CAP filter run (orange line in upgrade) maintains a more aggressive acceleration profile. This proves that as the vehicle cuts through the air and the engine climbs toward redline, the CAP filter is supplying the necessary volume of air to keep the turbos happy.

    Perfect fitment and my SQ8 is quicker!

    I needed to change my filter for maintenance, this was less expensive than the Audi replacement and flows much better. Car spools faster. Very happy with the build quality, fitment was absolutely spot on. The black/red color looks way better than OEM too! Highly recommended.
