For those curious about the release of the RSQ5, we're here to clarify that it never made it to production. In short, Audi never brought the RSQ5 to market. However, there are plenty of modifications available to enhance the appearance and performance of your Q5/SQ5.

Before we get into that let’s take a closer look at the available Q5/SQ5 models out there.

Audi Q5 8R.5 | First Generation Facelift | 2013-2017

As each year went by, Audi kept improving the Q5 lineup, giving buyers more choices. By the time they refreshed the car for the 2013 model year, it came with three different powertrain options. The starting engine was a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with 211 horsepower. Then, there was a hybrid version of the same engine with 245 horsepower, and finally, a supercharged 3.0L V6 with 272 horsepower. All-wheel drive was still included as standard, but now it came with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Here at Canadian Auto Performance we’re big fans of the 3.0T supercharged engine. It has its flaws, which we have talked about here, but overall it’s a great sounding engine and a reliable one if you keep up with maintenance in time.

The 8R.5 is one of the cheapest and most reliable options to go if you’re looking to get your hands into a used mid-sized SUV. Especially with the SQ5 you get bigger breaks, better interior colors and exterior looks.

Nevertheless, if you’re looking to mod your Q5 or SQ5 CAP is here to save the day. As a first mod everyone goes with our 2013-2017 RSQ5 Honeycomb Grille. For better performance, especially if you have the 3.0T engine we highly recommend getting the test pipes if you’re having issues with your cats and the heat exchanger for better peak performance.
