It combines the sportiness and aggressive stance of the A7 with the practicality and spaciousness of a hatchback-style rear end, akin to a large trunk space.
Simultaneously, it retains the refined qualities of the A4 lineup, offering a perfect fusion of performance, style, and functionality. This approach positioned the S5 as an attractive option for those seeking a car that elegantly bridges the gap between a sports coupe and a practical, luxurious vehicle.

The convertible variants, featuring soft or hard rooftops, were more common in Europe, adding another layer of versatility.
The S5 stands out in this diverse lineup for those desiring a more dynamic drive, while the RS5 represents the zenith of performance and luxury. Additionally, the availability of manual and automatic transmissions, coupled with quattro all-wheel drive, makes these models particularly appealing to tuning enthusiasts, further cementing their status as versatile and performance-oriented vehicles.

The 2007 - 2012 Audi S5 marked an exciting era in the luxury sports coupe segment. Launched in 2007, it built upon Audi's rich heritage, drawing inspiration from the iconic Audi Coupe of the 1980s, renowned for its performance in the World Rally Championship.
The S5 showcased a modified A5 Coupe bodywork, with a distinctive front grille, aggressive front apron, and a sloped cabin reminiscent of the classic Audi Coupe design. It featured a unique trunk lid, separate from the rear window, and sported four rounded exhausts with a wide diffuser.
The interior offered a sporty ambiance with a five-seat configuration, including front bucket seats and a rear bench with a split-folding seatback. The dashboard was thoughtfully designed with an integrated instrument cluster and infotainment screen.
Under the hood, the S5 was equipped with a potent 4.2-liter V8 engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive system and balanced 50:50 weight distribution underscored Audi's commitment to delivering a dynamic driving experience.

The 2012-2016 Audi S5 underwent a significant transformation, transitioning from a big naturally aspirated V8 to a supercharged V6. This change marked a pivotal moment in the S5's evolution, as it adopted an engine that would become iconic in the Audi enthusiast community. This engine, in particular, is the driving force behind Canadian Auto Performance earning its reputation as the go-to brand for Audi mods among fans.
Our journey at CAP began with two Audi S4s, owned by our founder Dardan and his friend, both pushing the limits of performance. These cars had it all—supercharged power, manual transmission, all-wheel drive, affordability, and an uncanny ability to handle high horsepower. However, they shared a common flaw: the notorious tendency of the 3.0T engine to blow the catalytic converters. We strongly recommend replacing them with test pipes.
The challenge arose when no existing brand could withstand the power these two enthusiasts were generating. Every test pipe they tried either cracked or failed to meet their expectations. This dilemma led to a pivotal decision: CAP would take matters into its own hands and craft the ultimate test pipes for the 3.0T engine. Today, the 3.0T community can rejoice in having access to the world's best test pipes, thanks to CAP's dedication and ingenuity.
For the Audi S5 B8.5, there's a special place in our hearts here at Canadian Auto Performance. We understand the unique allure of this generation, and as a testament to our commitment to Audi enthusiasts, we offer an extensive selection of performance parts. Our catalog is meticulously curated to feature only the best of the best, ensuring that every upgrade you make to your S5 B8.5 is a step towards achieving peak performance and driving pleasure.

The 2017-2019 Audi S5, part of the 3rd generation (B9), brought several exciting updates and enhancements. On the exterior, the design received a modern and sleek makeover. The S5 now boasted sharper lines, a more aggressive front fascia, and distinctive LED lighting elements that not only improved visibility but also added a touch of elegance to its appearance.
Inside the cabin, Audi continued to excel in providing a luxurious and driver-focused environment. Premium materials, impeccable craftsmanship, and a user-friendly infotainment system defined the interior. The driver-centric layout made it easy to access essential controls, enhancing the overall driving experience.
There was a significant shift for Audi when they transitioned from the 3.0T engine, which featured a supercharger and proved to be a remarkably reliable powerplant. This engine found its place in a wide array of Audi's lineup, including the S4, S5, A6, A7, SQ7, as well as the A8. The move to the single-turbo 3.0-liter V6 in the S5 marked a strategic decision as all auto-manufacturers were shifting towards turbocharged technology along these years.
Under the hood, the S5 was powered by a robust 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine, delivering an impressive 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. This engine, paired with Audi's legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system, ensured outstanding performance and traction. The 7-speed automatic S tronic transmission made gear shifts seamless and precise, contributing to the car's sporty character.
The Audi S5's engine not only provided exhilarating acceleration but also a refined driving experience, whether cruising on the highway or navigating winding roads. The combination of power and handling made it a versatile sports car suitable for both daily commuting and spirited driving.
A lot of people get confused with this. The distinction between the B9 Audi S5 and the B9 Audi RS5 lies in their powerplants. The S5 boasts a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, churning out a commendable 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, delivering strong performance. In contrast, the RS5 elevates the game with a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 engine, unleashing a remarkable 444 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.

For the 2020 model year, Audi has given the S5 coupe and cabriolet a refreshing makeover. These models now sport a more determined appearance, characterized by a larger grille, enhanced air intakes, and revised lighting elements. The lower side sills have also been redefined, while the rear diffusers and exhaust outlets have received a distinct touch. Inside the S5 lineup, Audi introduces its new infotainment software known as MIB 3, which operates through a new 10.1-inch touchscreen.
Regrettably, this update means that the rotary controller, which contributed to the system's intuitiveness, is no longer available. However, on a positive note, the 2020 S5 models come at a more affordable price point compared to their predecessors.
Under the hood, all S5 variants are equipped with the same potent 349-horsepower turbocharged V-6 engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Audi's renowned all-wheel drive.
Thanks to the launch-control system and the excellent traction provided by all-wheel drive, the previous S5 coupe we tested exhibited competitive acceleration, reaching 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.3 seconds.
